Tompolo Calls on Northerners to Back Tinubu's 2027 Re-election Campaign Ahead of the general elections in 2027

Former militant leader High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, also referred to as Tompolo, has urged political leaders in the north to support President Bola Tinubu's re-election campaign.
Tompolo called President Tinubu a "good man" with the experience needed to guide Nigeria to greater heights in an exclusive interview. He underlined the importance of continuity and urged that Tinubu be permitted to serve two terms in office, similar to that of Muhammadu Buhari, his predecessor.

In response to reports that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, and other northern political figures are forming a coalition to overthrow Tinubu and the ruling party in 2027, Tompolo reiterated that Tinubu should be given the same chance as Buhari, who held office for eight years, and vowed to personally travel to all northern states to campaign for Tinubu's re-election and make direct appeals to the populace.

"We will do our part, even go beyond our boundaries to the North to talk to our brothers so that President Tinubu can secure a second term," he said. Tinubu is a decent man with the expertise to advance this nation.

To reach them, I'm traveling to every state in the north. Let Tinubu finish the eight years that Buhari did. We can't pretend that power is exclusive to one area. By God's grace, everyone will be on our side.

Tompolo also disclosed that Delta State traditional leaders have openly supported President Tinubu for a second term, bolstering the administration's burgeoning popular support. In the run-up to the 2027 elections, Tompolo's support gives the changing landscape a fresh perspective, particularly among important regional and powerful leaders.
