The leadership of the Labour Party (LP) has criticized Datti Baba-Ahmed, the former vice presidential candidate in the general elections of 2023, for saying that President Bola Tinubu's administration is "questionably constitutional." The rebuttal was given to reporters in Kaduna on Saturday by Umar Ibrahim, the party's national secretary. According to Abayomi, the LP saw the remark as undemocratic and disassociated itself from any covert action that could incite Nigerians against the current government. The scribe also recalled that the party had supported candidates it thought could win in the past elections.
He also noted that the party lost its case to the 2023 presidential election outcome in the Supreme Court after it didn't go its way. "For the sake of national unity and interest, the Labour Party agreed with the Supreme Court's decision.

This was not because we approved of the Supreme Court's decision, but rather because it became final. The party has since moved on," he said. Abayomi lamented that the party was taken aback by the unlawful and unconstitutional meeting that Peter Obi and Abia Governor Alex Otti called on April 9 in Abuja.
He said Baba-Ahmed kept calling the 2023 presidential election "questionably constitutional" during the meeting, even though the Supreme Court had recognized Tinubu's government.

Additionally, Abayomi said that Baba-Ahmed stated, "The appointments they are making are fake and illegal," during an appearance with a major television station. As a result, he spoke for them at the party when he declared that such a speech was obviously provocative and called for widespread action against a legitimate authority.

Abayomi said, "We think there should be a limit to inciting public sentiment against a legitimate government." The Arab Spring that rocked the Middle East started when the Arab leaders disregarded Bouazizi's subtle warnings to the people. The widespread protests, uprisings, and revolutions that almost overtook the region were also influenced by the youths' continuous mobilization against their governments.

He recalled Baba-Ahmed's refusal to accept victory in the 2023 presidential election
also alleged that Tinubu’s government harbored a grand scheme to dismember Nigeria into six possibly autonomous zones. Additionally, he claimed that the government had caused Nigerians to endure unspeakable suffering. Abayomi claimed that all of them were attempts to incite anti-government sentiment. He made it clear that Nigeria was now going through a risky and unstable time. He says that in order to assist in pulling the country out of its predicament, all well-meaning Nigerians must recognize the country's vulnerability and set politics aside.

According to Abayomi, the LP leadership had made it quite evident that every Nigerian had the right to hold the government responsible for its failure to meet expectations.
But he said that, especially among the political elite, provocative comments with the power to unfairly ignite the nation should be avoided.
"As a result, the Labour Party, led by Mr. Julius Abure, wants to fully distance itself from the terrible and nasty remarks made by its former vice presidential candidate," he said.
Abayomi claims that Otti's alleged comment on a possible "doomsday" that awaits Julius Abure's leadership directly threatened the executive members' lives of the party.
He called on all the security agencies to step up security surrounding their leaders.
